Website Rebirth

A calm, static, Markdown-first rebuild of clemensbaumann.at, plus a sister site for the writing — built to make publishing feel light again.

Writing, Web publishing, Personal infrastructure

This site is being rebuilt as a small, static, Markdown-first home for my work. Its sibling, clembaum.com, does the same for my writing — same tools, same workflow, its own address.

The goal is intentionally modest: a personal website that is fast, quiet, easy to maintain, and free from the heavy machinery that often makes publishing feel like a chore. Instead of another overgrown CMS, the site is structured around plain text, simple pages, and a workflow that lets me add essays, project notes, and field reports without fighting the tool.

Phase one is about getting the structure right:

  • a clear home page
  • a work section for research, film, and teaching projects
  • a now page for current focus
  • a contact page and the necessary legal pages
  • a separate home for essays and notes at clembaum.com

The design principle is the same as the technical one: content first. The site should feel like a calm room for public thinking — not a funnel, not a personal brand machine, and definitely not another thing that needs constant maintenance.
