Verschwösterreich — roughly “Conspiraustria” — takes a look at the conspiracy theories that grow in Austria’s own backyard. A 12-minute documentary feature lets believers tell their version of the truth in interviews; an accompanying one-hour live studio production then puts the topic in front of experts and examines it properly.
I was the production manager for both, which mostly means making sure that a documentary shoot and a live broadcast happen on the right day, with the right people, in the right room, and that nobody notices how close it was.
Looking back, this one was a quiet preview of what I care about most today: media literacy, and how we talk about things people believe — taking them seriously as people, without taking every claim seriously as fact.
