If you are a rich television producer, please read on. Everyone else is welcome too.

Eva is a writer. Unfortunately, nobody wants to read what she writes. So she takes a job at a Chinese restaurant. Every meal there ends with a fortune cookie, and every fortune cookie with a tiny paper prophecy. Eva, being a writer, can’t leave them alone. She starts writing her own — and then they start coming true.

Unfortunately, Eva (in German: Drei Schätze) began as a small student idea among a few colleagues and then did what good ideas do: it grew far bigger than anyone had planned. Nina Stafflinger and I wrote a whole first season — six episodes — and our team produced the first one as a TV pilot in 2020, as the final project of our master’s programme.

It’s a comedy with a magical premise and a very human question underneath it — what happens when the stories you tell actually change the world? (Yes, I see the irony on a website about storytelling and knowledge transfer.)

The season is written. The pilot exists. There are worse things to produce a whole season of. If you run a TV channel or a streaming service, my inbox is open.
