Few vegetables have had a camera team follow them around. This one did.

Carrot’s Journeys (“Karottenwege”) is an interactive, stereoscopic 360° video experience about the logistics of regional food production around Groß-Enzersdorf — the surprisingly long trip a carrot makes before it lands in your soup. You stand in the middle of it all and decide where to look and where to go next.

The film was only half the job. The other half was a guideline: how do you produce 360° video for a small region or a small business, and how do you combine it with narrative interaction so it’s more than a fancy panorama? We wrote that down so the next town, farm, or museum doesn’t have to start from zero — which, looking back, is exactly the idea I keep coming back to: storytelling tools that ordinary institutions can actually use.
